Siemens at the Light+Building 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany

Digitalize your building

Light+Building in Frankfurt am Main is the world’s leading trade fair for building technologies – and Siemens will again be exhibiting at this event, which showcases industry trends, ideas and future-fit solutions. From March 18 - 23, 2018, trade visitors from Germany and many other countries will again gather at the fairgrounds in Frankfurt. This year, the fair will focus primarily on the digitalization and building systems. For the first time, Light+Building will be held in conjunction with a special show on safety and security technology. The special show “SECURE! – Connected Security in Buildings” presents fire and security systems as an integral part of building technology solutions.

Main Topics

Focus on digital solutions

Ongoing digitalization is shaking up the world of energy and building management. Profound change brings with it new challenges, but also offers opportunity and makes innovative business models possible. In keeping with the motto “Digitalize your building,“ Siemens is providing answers to the challenges of digitalization.

Buildings that are not only livable but also energy-saving require a reliable, secure and efficient power supply. The automated “Smart Building” can operate only if the failsafe provision of power is ensured for networked systems and components. Operating around the clock, communication-capable devices and systems capture and evaluate data that is indispensible for digitalization – which is, in turn, the basis for energy-efficient building operations.

At the Light+Building trade fair, we show how the electrical power distribution can be optimally integrated into digital buildings and  enable a highly secure, efficient and digital operation – from software-based planning to the provision of a demand-oriented power supply to the systematic collection of energy data that can be captured in building management systems and cloud-based IoT systems such as our MindSphere. Capable of collecting and analyzing large volumes of data, Mindsphere provides the foundation for optimized and sustainable building management.
