Virginie Maillard has led global research in Simulation and Digital Twin within Siemens Foundational Technologies since 2018. She is based at Siemens’ Research office in Princeton, New Jersey, and leads research teams in Germany, India, and China. In addition, she has held responsibility for the full scope of Siemens’ research activities in the United States.
Maillard earned her engineering degree and an MSc in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon (INSA Lyon) in France. Prior to joining Siemens, she worked for the automotive manufacturer Renault, where she most recently served as Head of Corporate Research and Research Strategy.
From 2018 to 2025, Maillard served as President of the Scientific Advisory Board of IMT (Institut Mines‑Télécom) in Paris, the largest group of graduate engineering schools in France. Since February 2025, she has been Chair of the Board of Directors of the R&D Council of New Jersey, an organization dedicated to advancing collaboration among research institutions and strengthening STEM education initiatives.
