
The SAP Garden high-tech arena is located in the heart of Munich.
With its lighting, ice temperature control, and air conditioning, a high-tech arena for ice hockey and other sports has particularly high energy requirements. This must be ensured by a powerful, efficient, and continuously available power supply. At the same time, the solution should fit seamlessly into the overall project, both in the planning stage and during operation. A proven and reliable solution is crucial for this.
When selecting a reliable partner for the power supply in the medium and low-voltage range for the SAP Garden project, we placed great value on having an overall system that was compact and consistent. It was particularly important to choose a power distribution system that we were already familiar with and could rely on without hesitation. That’s why we opted for the solutions from Siemens.
A new multifunctional arena is being built in Munich’s Olympia Park, the SAP Garden, which will be the new home of the ice hockey club EHC Red Bull Munich. Covering over 22,000 square meters, it will be a versatile stadium with space not only for over 11,500 seated and standing spectators, but also for various training areas. With over 120 years of experience, heinemann is ideally suited for the electrotechnical expansion of the project. A certified electrical company, it is implementing innovative solutions that are tailored to all the electrical engineering requirements of the complex.

As a specialized installer for the electrical engineering trade, heinemann is responsible for the entire factory and assembly planning, installation and maintenance of the electrical systems. In addition to supplying the electrical systems, IT systems, high and low-voltage current and TV transmission technology, heinemann is also responsible for the security-related areas, which include the fire alarm and voice alarm systems, video and security monitoring systems, intruder alarm systems and the control center for the police and fire department.
Heinemann opts for our proven, durable, and standard-tested solutions. These include the NXAIR C medium-voltage systems, the SIVACON S8 low-voltage power distribution boards and the SIVACON 8PS busbar trunking systems. The modular systems combine to form an integrated solution. During the planning phase, the SIMARIS software portfolio ensures that the power supply planning fits seamlessly into the rest of the building planning process.

Two air-insulated medium-voltage switchgears NXAIR C, each with an output of 5 MW, offer a high level of security of supply for the high-tech arena, a personal protection and meet the requirements of the IEC 62271-200 standard.

The modular SIVACON S8 low-voltage power distribution board is installed in the multifunctional arena in a compact and space-saving double-front design. The systems also have a redundant configuration.

The SIVACON 8PS busbar trunking systems ensure reliable power distribution from low-voltage distribution boards. They impress with their high short-circuit resistance and low fire load.
The SIMARIS tool landscape supports heinemann’s electrical planners with the implementation of safe, efficient and digital solutions. The SIMARIS planning tools not only contribute to time and cost savings in planning and configuration, but also help to increase efficiency in operation and maintenance. BIM data can be extracted from SIMARIS both as-planned and as-built. This means that digital system twins can be seamlessly integrated into digital building twins.

Planners, operators, event organizers and visitors benefit from the reliable power supply solutions. The compact busbar trunking system allows for the use of available space in an efficient way, reducing investment costs.
