Our DEGREE targets map against three key impact areas, as well as looking at sustainability holistically, covering decarbonization, ethics, governance, resource efficiency, as well as equity and employability.
This is DEGREE – how we measure our impact. Because every DEGREE of progress counts – for our customers, planet and society.

DEGREE targets that have not been achieved but are no longer part of DEGREE have been operationalized and will continue to be part of public reporting under CSRD.

How does circularity help move beyond “take, make, waste” through repair, refurbishment and remanufacturing? Together with partners, machines gain a second life – benefiting the environment and offering cost‑efficient solutions.
Alternative drives such as battery electric and hydrogen trains help reduce carbon dioxide while bringing people onto the trains. Long, continuous train sets and data‑based maintenance keep trains moving reliably on the tracks.
