Trutnov branch was established in October 2010 through a merger with Siemens, s.r.o. Today, the Siemens plant in Trutnov employs more than five hundred people and develop and manufacture innovative products and new solutions for intelligent industrial operations.
The branch specializes in the production of control and switching devices for industrial automation:
- Manufacturing of electromechanical switching and signaling components
- Manufacturing of electronic switching devices and relays
- PCB assembly for switching, communication, and signaling devices and relays
Key Milestones: The Trutnov plant's journey
- 1993: Siemens Elektropřístroje, s.r.o. was founded through the privatization of a part of ZPA Trutnov. The production program included semiconductors, electronic relays, transformers, ultrasonic position sensors and fiber optic cables.
- 1999: Production began in the newly constructed hall at the Volanovská site. The production portfolio include electromechanical switching and signaling elements, electronic switching devices and relays and newly, PCB assembly.
- 2003: A Research and Development (R&D) department was opened at the plant and primarily focuses on PCB assembly design, mechanical product design, definition of production technologies and product certification.
- 2005, 2012: Construction of a new administrative building in 2005 was followed by the construction of Production Hall II, which became operational in 2013. Production program: Sirius contactors, control and signaling devices and time relays.
- 2015, 2018, 2020: In 2015, Sirius Side contactor production was transferred to Trutnov and manufacturing of new switching and signaling elements (3SU1) began, followed by Sirius soft starters in 2018. Then further production transfers in 2020.
- 2025, 2026: In 2025, the plant achieved carbon neutrality by utilizing electricity from renewable sources, connecting to the district heating system from the power plant and electrifying the company's vehicle fleet. In the following year, a new photovoltaic power plant was commissioned on the roof of the production hall.
