Funding criteria and projects

We support a wide range of projects within engineering and the natural sciences, with a particular focus on applications related to electrical engineering.

What types of projects do we support?

We give preference to the following types of applications:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree projects where grants of approximately DKK 30,000 can help take the project to the next level, for example by funding specialized equipment or specific measurements, as well as interdisciplinary, theme-based student activities.
  • Applications from university departments for specialized equipment that can benefit several degree projects. This does not include standard laboratory equipment that departments would normally be expected to provide.
  • Activities that help increase interest in technology among the general public, with a particular focus on children and young people.

We look forward to receiving your application through your educational institution.

Over the years, we have supported a wide range of projects. Our financial support enables grant recipients to develop their projects to a research level and explore potential solutions to real-world challenges and societal issues.

Underwater robot to clean offshore structures

Four students from Aalborg University Esbjerg received a DKK 25,000 award from the Siemens Foundation. Their underwater robot addresses a costly challenge for the offshore industry by using high-pressure cleaning to remove mussels and other marine growth from underwater pipes and installations at offshore platforms and wind turbines.
