Seamless integration of IT into OT with Mendix on Edge

With Mendix on Edge, we combine the leading low-code app development capabilities of Mendix with the app management and execution capabilities of Industrial Edge, to ensure faster app development and easy deployment at scale.

To develop apps with Mendix, you will need to download the latest version of Mendix Studio Pro and our Industrial Edge Plugin from the Mendix Marketplace to connect to your Edge environment. To run applications in Industrial Edge, you will need to obtain Industrial Edge Hub Access from the Marketplace and set up an Industrial Edge Management system with at least one device to run applications on. Mendix Studio Pro, the Plugin, Industrial Edge Hub Access and Industrial Edge Management are completely free of charge.

Mendix on Edge (MxE) is licensed on a per-device basis. This means that you need to purchase a Mendix Device License for every device that runs Mendix applications and according to the device’s memory capacity (4GB, 8GB or 16GB). Once licensed, you can run an unlimited number of Mendix apps on that single device. You can find Mendix Device Licenses on the Industrial Edge Marketplace.

Mendix on Edge offers a variety of pre-built, industrial-grade components on the Mendix Marketplace to help you accelerate your development process, such as cloud connectors (e.g., AWS IoT SiteWise Edge or API samples for IIH). For ready-to-use products please refer to the Industrial Edge Marketplace.

Thanks to our Microservice approach you can also utilize these off-the-shelf applications with your Mendix-built applications.
