Corporate Citizenship

Siemens has been transforming communities across India through Corporate Citizenship initiatives. We build our commitment on three pillars: access to technology, access to education and sustaining communities.

Integrated development for a sustainable future

Corporate Citizenship in India has various ongoing initiatives. Broadly, these initiatives are creating sustainable communities through use of simple and inclusive technologies, developing innovative solutions that help sustain the environment and improve quality of life, and fostering India’s youth by making them industry-ready while making technology and knowledge accessible to a wide number of people. See Siemens Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.

Access to technology

Ready access to simple, inclusive tech is transforming rural communities. Corporate Citizenship uses Siemens strengths in electrification and automation to deliver clean water, irrigation pumping, and better healthcare.

Access to education

Siemens Scholarship Program, Dual VET at government ITIs, and STEM initiatives expand quality education for economically disadvantaged communities, positively reaching over 120,000 students impacted.

Sustaining communities

Siemens has long supported people affected by natural calamities with rapid emergency relief, offering technical and financial aid to help communities meet challenges and restore or maintain essential functionality.

Beware of fraudulent mails

We caution students, parents, jobseekers, institutions, and the public that Siemens and its affiliates have not created or registered any charitable trust in India to offer any Scholarship program.

Project Asha

With Project Asha, Siemens addresses the severe development deficit in rural areas. Started in 2012, from a remote village in Mokhada, the project now has spread across over 140 villages in Mokhada, Palghar District and Aurangabad of Maharashtra. With both regions facing water scarcity on a regular basis, watershed development was the need of the hour.

Siemens Scholarship Program – Empowering the future

Based on the German dual education system, the program hones youth to become industry-ready engineers, and launch a sustainable career in engineering, R&D or manufacturing. Under this initiative, the program offers four years scholarship to meritorious engineering students from economically disadvantaged families.

The internships, trainings, projects and mentorships provided by Siemens acquaints these bright minds with the dynamics of the industry, thereby leading to their holistic development. As of 2025, 1,945 students from 150 colleges across 27 states in India have benefited from the Siemens Scholarship Program.

Project Jigyaasa - STEM in schools

Project Jigyaasa aims to enhance learning outcomes in schools and encourage students to pursue STEM careers. Launched in 2018, this project has positively impacted more than 37,000 students at 150+ government schools across six states in India (as of 2025).

Project Jigyaasa focuses on fostering scientific temper through inquiry-based learning, access to digital learning and promoting entrepreneurial freedom among students and teachers. With Experimento India, our mission is to create an innovative learning environment tailored for students through Open Educational Resources (OER), accessible in regional languages. We aim to improve learning outcomes in STEM education and cultivate an inclusive and engaging educational experience for all.

Dual VET – Win-Win for local industries and trainees

The Dual VET program at Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) is based on the German Apprenticeship model. The model employs project- based learning interlocked with theory, workshops, and On-The-Job.
