Empower continuous upskilling with certifications

Siemens delivers industry-relevant, quality-assured certifications that help engineers differentiate themselves in the job market and allow companies to recruit the talent required to drive digital transformation.

The world's first ABET-recognised certification provider

Siemens is now the world's first company to provide ABET-recognised industry certifications.

What are certifications?

A certification is a verification that a learner has acquired specific knowledge or skills. Unlike a traditional degree, certifications can be earned in hours, weeks or months as opposed to years. Certifications allow learners to enter the workforce with confidence, demonstrate their familiarity with emerging technologies and more.

How micro-certifications help students prepare for industry

Dean Craig Downing of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology explains that his students are asking for micro-certifications so that they can augment their degrees with verified study in specific concentrations to better prepare for today's industrial workplaces.

Why certifications matter

For learners, certifications offer a way to showcase their understanding of industry-relevant topics.

For industry leaders, certifications offer the ability to validate candidates' qualifications and find talent with the right skills for their unique organisational needs.

For educators, certifications enrich your curriculum and equip your students with verified proof of in-demand skills and practical knowledge.

ABET recognition and quality assurance

The 'Design for the Circular Economy' courses and specialisations that make up the micro-certification are developed around the educational goals of providing technical, business and leadership knowledge and skills that inspire the transformation towards a more circular economy. This includes gaining technical knowledge to apply circular economy principles in product design: minimising waste and maximising impact; developing business acumen to implement innovative circular economic models that prioritise sustainability and resilience; and acquiring leadership strategies to communicate effectively and inspire change within an organisation.

This micro-certification created in collaboration with CU Boulder is the first industry qualification to receive ABET recognition under its Certificate Recognition Standards, demonstrating Siemens' commitment to quality assurance.
