Siemens Company Core Technologies

We want to be at the cutting edge of several important technology and innovation fields that have been determined to be critical for our success and of our customers. We call them the Company Core Technologies (CCTs) as they are at the core of our research. Our work includes pioneering resilient software architectures and self-evolving software for industrial environments. We combine the real and the digital worlds using physical systems, digital twins, AI, simulation, automation and data to solve problems that others cannot access.

And we focus on providing built-in guarantees for quality and operable autonomy. When speed meets safety in robotics

In their IROS 2026 paper, "Enabling dynamic tracking in vision-language-action models," Johannes Hechtl, Philipp Schmitt, Georg von Wichert, and Wolfram Burgard introduce two model-agnostic action space representations with velocity feedforward to fix discrete, low-frequency VLA targets. Tested on 1mm cube-in-hole tasks using Universal Robots, it boosts teleoperated throughput by 56% and autonomous VLA throughput by 18% with faster, safe tracking.
