INDUSTRIAL DEVICE MANAGEMENT

Siemens Industrial Asset Hub

Siemens Industrial Asset Hub (IAH) simplifies asset management with a scalable, open and secure cloud service. Discover, identify and manage industrial devices across enterprises.

SMART INDUSTRIAL ASSET MANAGEMENT

Unify IT and OT environments

Industrial Asset Hub (IAH) is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product designed specifically for industrial customers looking to bridge the gap between their IT and OT worlds. With its advanced capabilities, IAH empowers industrial organizations to securely discover, contextualize and manage their industrial devices and integrate easily with IT asse management solutions.

The heart of IAH lies in its ability to discover devices with highest data quality in the shop floor. By utilizing Asset Links provided by our partner network, IAH can effortlessly discover and identify a wide variety of industrial devices independent of vendor. Partners can easily contribute Asset Links to IAH to extend the asset interaction capabilities. This openness and modularity is a defining feature of IAH, as it allows customers and vendors, regardless of their affiliations, to develop own Asset Links and seamlessly integrate them into our OT platform. This ensures that every customer can efficiently discover and manage devices without being tied to any particular vendor-specific on-premise tooling.

Once devices are discovered, IAH goes beyond mere identification by providing comprehensive management capabilities. With IAH, industrial customers can optimize their device management processes, leading to increased efficiency, reduced downtime, enhanced shopfloor transparency enabling more detailed Cybersecurity or Obsolescence analytics.

Frequently asked questions

How does Siemens Industrial Asset Hub discover and identify devices?

Siemens IAH connects to your production assets with a modular and scalable gateway service that is deployed close to access your production network. The IAH gateway service is available as an Industrial Edge (IE) application as well as a freely deployable Docker compose package which can be deployed on Non-IE smart devices (e.g. SCALANCE LPE, also non-Siemens devices) or in a virtualized IT environment.

How does Siemens Industrial Asset Hub integrate with existing IT systems?

Siemens IAH SaaS provides a centralized and secure cloud-based asset inventory service that is accessible via a well-documented and secure API by other cloud-based solutions. Via the API the inventory data can e.g. be integrated seamlessly into analytic tools or services (Vulnerability Management, Obsolescence Management) as well as existing IT asset workflow management system or a CMDB. IAH can also contextualize to asset lifecycle, documentation or firmware status information resources like e.g. an Asset Administrations Shell.

What are the core technical building blocks of Siemens Industrial Asset Hub?

Siemens IAH supports your OT asset management tasks with three focal components:

  • A centrally hosted cloud-inventory service (SaaS backend service) that consolidates fleet-wide all OT asset data . It encompasses and exposes all IAH capabilities. These capabilities can be accessed via a web-based UI application and our well-documented API.
  • Asset Gateways which distributed in your plants on-premise close to the production discovering asset information and routing acting capabilities to the cloud inventory. The communication between Asset Gateway and backend service is established with secure and firewall-friendly protocols (easy to implement into IEC62443-compliant industrial security concepts)
  • Asset Links provided by our Siemens-internal and external partner network, connecting the Asset Gateway with automation and field devices in production network, enabling extended management capabilities like e.g OT firmware updates.
