Future-proof planning  
SIMARIS busbarplan supports the creation of three-dimensional routing models (digital twins) for selected SIVACON 8PS systems. BIM-compliant product data can be used to coordinate the planned busbar runs with the building model and further trades. 

Clever installation  
During installation and commissioning, the BusbarCheck app provides installation information, supports the identification and visual documentation of each connection point, and generates a digital installation protocol. On-site data can then be synchronized with the planning data in SIMARIS busbarplan to create the “as-built” digital twin. 

Transparent and efficient operation 
SIVACON 8PS combines power distribution with data availability for monitoring and energy management applications. Depending on the system configuration, operational data can be acquired and transmitted to higher-level analysis, automation, or energy management systems via powerline 2.0 technology without additional communication wiring.  
The modular system with tap-off units support adaptation to changing power distribution requirements. Additional loads can be connected and system modifications or expansions can be planned and implemented with the appropriate system components and project configuration.

powerline 2.0 technology transmits energy data through the SIVACON 8PS busbar trunking system without separate communication wiring. The available data can be used for energy management, system monitoring, and maintenance planning in industrial, infrastructure, and eMobility applications. 

SIVACON 8PS – LD busbar trunking system 

The SIVACON 8PS LD busbar trunking system supports power transmission and distribution in DC applications. Its modular design facilitates planning, installation, operation, and later expansion or modification. 

Thanks to the SIMARIS busbarplan planning tool, BIM-compliant 3D-busbar runs can be created as the digital twin of the system –. The busbar trunking system is design-verified in accordance with IEC 61439-1/-6. DC energy units with suitable switching and protection devices enable bidirectional power distribution to connected loads. 

The system’s modular design, long-term usability, and recyclable materials can support resource-conscious planning, depending on the application and system configuration. 

What is the difference between an AC tap-off unit and a DC energy unit? 

Both variants are plugged into a busbar trunking system. The DC energy unit uses DC-compatible components, supports bidirectional operation, and includes coding designed to prevent connection to an AC system. 

Can a standard LD system be used for DC operation? 

There are many components that can be used universally for AC and DC. However, feeder-units, outlets and tap-off points are specially designed in a DC system and identified for DC operation. What are the advantages of an air-insulated LD system over other busbar trunking systems? 

The larger distances between the conductors result in lower system capacitance, which can be advantageous during switching operations. The air-insulated design also reduces electric-field stress on the insulation, particularly during voltage peaks.
