Arc protection

Arc fault protection is the technique employed for the fast clearance of arcing faults on electrical insulated switchgear in low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) applications.

The Reyrolle 7XG31 uses optical sensors for rapid arc fault clearance in switchgear. It trips within 10ms—considerably faster than traditional relays—to minimize equipment damage and protect personnel from dangerous arcing faults.
