Interactive Decentralized Energy & Learning Lab (IDEAL)

Join us at Siemens AG's Interactive Dynamic Energy & Learning Lab (IDEAL Lab), where we will present innovative solutions for the complex energy supply of tomorrow.

Cooperative simulation for a sustainable tomorrow

The Interactive Decentralized Energy & Learning Lab (IDEAL), uses a "Serious Gaming" approach to understand the complexities of the energy system and its transition. A key feature is an interactive table with over 20 different objects. Its activities are highly adaptable and guided to meet the specific needs of different groups.
Thanks to its flexible formats, the ENSURE Showroom appeals to a wide audience, including school classes, students, stakeholders, businesses, and anyone interested in energy, even those without prior knowledge.
Learning and grasping complex concepts is more effective through playful experimentation. Visitors can immediately observe the effects of small changes within the system. Despite the high fun factor, the five interactive games are packed with information about the energy grid of tomorrow and how ENSURE's findings contribute to its development.

Be part of an open exchange on smart, scalable solutions transforming our energy system.

The ENSURE project aims to make the electricity grid fit for the energy transition. In its current form, the grid cannot meet future challenges. Therefore, researchers, grid operators, manufacturers and civil society organizations are developing solutions within the Kopernikus project ENSURE. These solutions will help ensure that everyone has reliable access to energy when they need it in the future.

Learning about intelligent energy use in five interactive games

The lab uses serious gaming to convey the (un)expected interrelationships of the energy transition, the functioning of energy grid structures, and the systemic interaction of various technological components. At the heart of the lab is an interactive table featuring over 20 different objects. Visitors can explore the showroom in person and online. By visually representing future scenarios, the lab helps stakeholders and citizens better understand and discuss future energy supply scenarios, including necessary infrastructure measures.
