Control and Monitoring System

SICAM A8000

The system is responsible for monitoring the production facility. It enables remote and secure control (with interlocks and switching sequences in place) and provides diagnostics of the power network.
The system also visualizes measurements and the status of switching devices operating in the network, giving plant or substation operators a complete overview of system operation, including loads, sources, and network structure.

Electrical switchgear

Optimal electrical energy management is a key element of any sustainable industrial facility’s strategy. Therefore, at the Digital Experience Lab, we also present comprehensive solutions in this area, including environmentally friendly low‑ and medium‑voltage switchgear.We explain how such equipment is controlled and how we can significantly simplify, for example, the installation of new machinery using busbar trunking systems.

Modular solutions for machines

  • The presented machine is a comprehensive showcase of hardware and software solutions from Siemens Industrial Automation, used in the design of packaging machines as well as production lines and machinery.
    Particular attention should be paid to solutions in the areas of motion control drive technology, the digital twin, and IoT Edge applications. Their use results in faster time to market, greater flexibility in machine expansion, and easier and faster programming.

    The main standards and technological solutions found in packaging machines and production lines include:

    The core of the system control is the SIMATIC S7‑1500 TF technology controller, combined with SINAMICS S120 and S210 drives. SIRIUS products are used for power distribution.
    In addition, a virtual representation of the machine in the form of a digital twin is available within the Siemens NX Mechatronics Concept Designer (MCD) environment, enabling simulation of various machine operating scenarios. Monitoring of operating conditions is provided by the SIMATIC Industrial Edge platform, which, through installed applications, enables visualization of quality indicators (KPI and OEE), energy consumption management, and supports machine diagnostics.

In a wastewater treatment plant

The station demonstrates a complete portfolio of process automation solutions. It consists of both a physical DCS control system and its digital twin, which is responsible for simulating and optimizing processes in industrial facilities.
The application demonstrates the process of control and optimization of energy consumption in a wastewater treatment plant. It is based on SIMATIC PCS, SIMIT, and gPROMS (gWater) solutions.
Municipal wastewater treatment plants are major energy consumers as well as sources of greenhouse gas emissions. The main challenge lies in reducing energy consumption while complying with regulations regarding pollutant concentrations. This is influenced by the complexity of biological and chemical reaction networks, the lack of online measurements, and the slow dynamics of the installation.

Fire Detection System

Cerberus PRO and the Sinorix Fire Suppression System

Sinorix offers intelligent extinguishing options—tailored to specific needs and fully integrated with fire protection systems. The advanced Sinorix portfolio of fire suppression equipment for room and facility protection includes systems based on natural or chemical extinguishing agents, as well as water‑mist systems.
The presented Sinorix Compact solution is a complete fire protection system designed for server rooms and spaces with volumes from 72 to 132 m³. It combines fire detection and extinguishing systems in a single enclosure. The housing includes all necessary electrical connections, the XC‑1003 control panel, an FDA221 aspirating smoke detector, an acoustic alarm device, a visual alarm, a DEMADEM actuator, a pressure gauge, and a silent Sinorix nozzle.

Cerberus PRO consists of fire detection panels with IoT functionality, intelligent fire detectors, and peripherals that enable year‑round protection of buildings and occupants. The system allows remote access at any time from any location via the Building X Fire Apps, ensuring daily operational safety.
At the demo station, we present the FS720 fire control panel with cloud access via the x200 gateway, along with an overview of the complete range of loop devices, including:

DigiLab - Cerberus PRO

Smart building

Heating, cooling, ventilation, security, access control systems… These are just some of the components of smart office buildings.

At the Digital Experience Lab, we demonstrate how such solutions improve building energy efficiency and enhance user comfort. We also present how management systems for these elements—Desigo CC and the Building X platform—can significantly reduce energy consumption, and thus operating costs, by analyzing all available data.

Safety and security systems

Office buildings and industrial plants

The main function of the presented systems is to enhance the safety of people and improve the efficiency of personnel using various applications.

Siveillance Video is a Video Management System (VMS) for managing CCTV systems. It supports over 14,000 device types available on the market—from cameras and speakers to encoders and I/O modules. Notably, the presented system is probably the largest CCTV system in Poland, supporting more than 4,000 cameras. The system can also be operated via a web browser and mobile devices. It integrates with other Siemens security systems, allowing users to operate a single platform, thereby improving efficiency.

Enlighted is a comprehensive IoT system for managing and optimizing lighting. It consists of sensors, tags, access points, and software. Thanks to various measurement methods, it enables optimization and significant reduction of energy consumption, and consequently the carbon footprint. Enlighted also enables location tracking of people and assets and allows analysis of office space utilization.

SiPass Integrated is a reliable and flexible access control system capable of managing access in large office complexes where the number of doors, gates, barriers, and elevators is counted in tens of thousands. It supports all available standards of cards and readers, including virtual card solutions. This system offers a high level of security, protecting against threats and cyberattacks. Thanks to its modular structure and scalability, SiPass Integrated can adapt to the ever‑changing needs of any organization.

Siveillance Intrusion PRO is a system designed to protect buildings and their surroundings against intrusion, vandalism, sabotage, and other potential threats. It is a comprehensive solution consisting of devices, controllers, and modules that enable automatic detection of unauthorized access. The system offers high scalability, supporting up to:

20,000 zones
10,000 users
4,000 partitions

The system can be operated via traditional local consoles, touch interfaces, and operator stations.

Sinteso is a fire detection system with a wide range of addressable compact and modular control panels, supporting from 252 to 5,000 addresses. The system can be expanded with integrated extinguishing control and allows networking of up to 64 control panels within a single system using fiber‑optic connections.
The portfolio includes a wide range of devices such as:

special loop detectors (e.g. linear smoke detectors, flame detectors, aspirating detectors).

The system can also be connected to Siemens cloud services, ensuring secure data transmission and enabling remote monitoring.

Car chargers

The decarbonization of vehicle fleets is a process affecting an increasing number of Polish companies. At the Digital Experience Lab, we demonstrate how the latest technologies can streamline both the installation and use of electric vehicle chargers.

Power regulation via an application, integration of chargers with a Building Management System, and authorization using a card or smartphone are just some of the features of our charging solutions.

At the Digital Experience Lab, we not only showcase the functionality of these technologies but also help businesses select charging solutions with parameters tailored to their specific needs and capabilities.

Sidiro AR

Switchgear in augmented reality

SidiroAR is a free mobile application that supports the design and production process of low‑voltage switchgear using augmented reality. It was developed by a Polish Siemens software team from the technical support department.

The use of digitalization in switchgear production significantly improves efficiency, reduces errors, and facilitates technical discussions with customers. This process can be further streamlined by using an accurate 3D model provided by the switchgear technology supplier. Combined with augmented reality, a panel builder can display such a model directly in their workshop and precisely verify how the structure and the equipment installed inside should be assembled.

The 3D model also enables verification of the correct configuration and design of the switchgear to prevent potential collisions before manufacturing. As a result, additional costs related to rework can be avoided. SidiroAR allows panel builders to visualize the switchgear with its actual dimensions anytime and anywhere.

Each user has a personalized account, to which 3D models intended for augmented reality visualization are assigned. This enables Siemens‑certified SIVACON switchgear panel builders to visualize the ordered switchgear using augmented reality technology.
