Just as the Olympics are to athletes, the WorldSkills Competition is the highest competitive stage in the professional training industry. As a non-governmental organization with over 60 years of history, its World Skills Competition is globally recognized as the only professional skills competition platform. Siemens became an industrial partner with it in October 2010. The WorldSkills Competition has always been committed to improving the quality of vocational training worldwide, thereby promoting higher levels of vocational education and training. The WorldSkills Competition is held every two years, attracting thousands of participants in each edition. Young athletes aged 22 or below selected from various countries/regions gather together to exchange skills, observe and enhance friendships. Each competition will be held in different countries, and the latest WorldSkills Competition was held in Leipzig, Germany in 2013.

Siemens and the WorldSkills Competition

Siemens, as a global operating innovative company, has been committed to attracting more talents to enter the world of technology. From July 2nd to July 7th, 2013, the World Professional Cup was held in Leipzig with the support of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Dr. Angela Merkel. Over 1,000 young contestants from all over the world competed for the world championship in 46 events. As a representative of industrial control (skill 19) and a sponsor of automation (skill 1), Siemens provided modern industrial components in the field of automation and drive technology.

In addition, Siemens provided competition equipment for electrical installation projects (skill 18). China and World Skills Competition

From October 3rd to 10th, 2010, the World Skills Organization held its 2010 World Skills Organization Conference in Jamaica. On October 7th, the conference voted to approve China's official accession to the World Skills Organization. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, as the Chinese delegation, attended the meeting. China's formal accession to the World Skills Organization can build an international platform for technical exchange among peers, which is conducive to learning from the experience of promoting skills training and conducting skills competitions in various countries around the world, creating conditions for outstanding skilled talents in China to step onto the international stage, promoting the achievements of China's high skilled talent work and human resource capacity building, expanding China's influence in the field of vocational training, and cultivating a team of high skilled talents with international standards, which is of great significance.

In recent years, vocational skills competitions organized by China have achieved fruitful results, laying a solid foundation for joining the World Skills Organization. In 2010, China launched a total of 31 national level first and second category competition activities, with nearly ten million enterprise employees and college students actively participating.
