Siemens Campus Zug, Switzerland

Siemens built its own headquarters the way it builds for customers: operationally net-zero, fully connected, and designed around the people who work there – proving what's possible when the real and digital worlds come together.

Sustainability and digitalization in action

In the fall of 2023, Siemens Smart Infrastructure celebrated the completion of its climate-neutral campus in Zug, Switzerland. The international headquarters is a showcase project for sustainability in construction and operation as well as digitalization in building technology. It sets technological standards in every respect, demonstrating how smart, responsive infrastructure impacts ESG goals.

Attractive and future-oriented workplace

Base for 1,700 employees from 60+ nations, ~80 patents filed yearly, award winning “Factory of the Year 2022”, and home to one of Siemens’ first fully inclusive R&D buildings

From Siemens, for Siemens

At Siemens Campus Zug, Siemens has seamlessly integrated its own proprietary building technology and transformed it into a vibrant showcase for its cutting-edge smart infrastructure solutions. Siemens employees work in this building every day, which means that we experience first-hand our technology, validating our expertise and systems.

Portfolio made in Switzerland

Walk into one of the three campus buildings and you're in a working factory, producing Fire Safety, Service and Room Automation, and Field Devices & OEM products for customers around the world. Recognized as a benchmark site with proven “Lean Factory” principles, the facility was awarded “Factory of the Year 2022” in the category for excellence in supply chain resilience. The building itself is LEED Gold certified. Every six seconds, a finished fire detector comes off the production line, supplying not only other Siemens sites but also customers in the European, US, and Asian markets.

R&D and test labs driving global innovation

The laboratories on the campus play a key role in Siemens' research and development of building technologies. The Fire Lab ensures the highest level of quality for fire safety products and solutions, while the HVAC Lab tests and continually improves heating, ventilation, and air conditioning products in simulated environments. The EMC Lab ensures electromagnetic compatibility, covering both emission and immunity. In the Pilot Lab, customers experience how today's solutions can meet the evolving needs of modern, future-ready research facilities. The Service X Lab then provides a deep dive into how Siemens applications such as SPM, cRSP, and Global iBase are interconnected. State-of-the-art equipment ensures safe and secure testing for a global network of customers.

A stage for customer experience

The Inspiration and Convention Center (ICC) demonstrates to guests from around the world that Siemens Smart Infrastructure is a leader in holistic building technology solutions. Visitors can walk through the Experience Room, sit in a flexible event space, or take a tour of the factory floor and labs next door. An on-site broadcast studio also supports communication activities, making the ICC available for both customer visits and internal or external events.

A space for innovation

Within New Work requirements, physical spaces provide the opportunity for people to come together and work. Spaces are enablers for innovation, for collaboration, for curiosity. That's why Siemens created the innovation space “Spark” at the global headquarters of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, to support employees in their daily work and beyond. It's the same thinking Siemens applies when designing spaces for customers: people first.

Investment in young talents

A specialized training center at Siemens Campus Zug coaches young national and international talents across eleven professional fields, ranging from automation and IT, to business and logistics, equipping them with practical skills for their future careers.
