Paderborn, in Westphalia, has a long tradition as an IT hub. Many well-known companies are shaping the digital transformation from here. Siemens has been part of this innovative environment for decades. Today, employees from various Siemens IT units, as well as Siemens Finance & Leasing GmbH, work together at a single location at Lise-Meitner-Straße 6. The Siemens Accessibility Competence Center (ACC) holds a special position; it is one of the leading institutions for research, development, and standardization in the field of accessible design—for example, for workplaces, vehicles, websites, and software. Inclusion is practiced firsthand at the ACC: About half of the employees are people with disabilities. In addition, Siemens has been actively involved in the City of Paderborn’s inclusion initiative for many years.
