Siemens Student Software through Altair One

Fuel your learning with Siemens software. Build in-demand digital skills and strengthen your product design expertise through hands-on experience. Access is easy with your official educational institution email address, helping you stand out to future employers.

Follow the four steps below to access and use your free Student Edition(s) of Rapidminer AI Studio, Simcenter Hypermesh, Simcenter PSIM, Simcenter Inspire and Simcenter Feko.

STEP 1: Create an Altair One Account

  • Go to the Altair One registration page and enter your email address, assigned to you by your educational institution (e.g., yourname@youruniversity.edu).
  • Select either "Students" or "Faculty" depending on your role and enter your details, then enter the verification code sent to your provided email address to create your account.

Note: if your university is not listed, you must add it manually by clicking on “Not Listed?” Choosing the wrong university will result in your registration being rejected.

STEP 2: Obtain your Student Edition license key

• Log into Altair One and go to the "Marketplace".

• Click on the "Student Edition License" card.

• Select the "Licensing" tab in the panel that opens on the right side and click on "Get License".

• Your unique license activation key will appear unless your account is Pending Verification.

Note: if you see "Pending Verification" please wait for a verification e-mail, after which you can go back to Altair One and follow the above steps to generate the license key.

STEP 3: Download and install software

Note: after generating a license key, you will need to log out and log back in to see the Software Downloads tab and to get the Download option.

• Log into Altair One and navigate to the Altair Marketplace.

• Make sure the "Student Edition Bundle" checkbox is selected in the "Suites" filter on the left.

• Select the software app you want and go to the “Software Downloads” tab to download.

• Install the software on your computer by double-clicking the downloaded .exe file and following the installation instructions in the installation wizard.

Note for Hypermesh - Altair Solver users:

• Install HM (desktop exe) and Optistruct (Mechanical Solvers exe) to the same installation folder.

• HM (Desktop exe) consists of: Hypermesh, Hyperview, Hyperstudy, Motionview and more.

• Optistruct (Mechanical Solvers exe) consists of: Optistruct, Radioss, Multiscale Designer, Motionsolve and more.

STEP 4: Activate installed software with the Student Edition license key in ALMUTIL

  • In your File Explorer, navigate to the installation folder of your installed Altair Software (e.g., System (C:) > Program Files > Altair > 2025 > security > bin > win64 > GUI).
  • Locate and double-click the file "almutil_gui.exe".
  • The "Altair License Utility" window will open.
  • Select the "Activation" tab and paste your license activation key (obtained in Step 2) in the field then click on "Activate".
