The new MD740-1 GPRS router permits data transmission using the GPRS service of a GSM mobile radio provider both for the SINAUT ST7 telecontrol system and other Ethernet-based automation devices, e.g. for remote maintenance. Since data transmission from the GPRS provider to the control center or service center is frequently implemented over the Internet, the MD740-1 has an integral VPN router and firewall.
