Together with BASF, Siemens introduced biomass-balanced plastics into SIRIUS 3RV2 circuit breakers. According to BASF, renewable raw materials reduce the emission of carbon dioxide equivalents by ~270 tons per year*.

*The calculation of Product Carbon Footprint of materials is according to TfS Methodology and compares the CO2 reduction of the BASF Biomass Balanced product vs the conventional BASF product.

At St. Joseph Hospital, Siemens supported a low-voltage power distribution project using SENTRON and SIVACON products. According to the project reference, the results included annual energy savings of €340k and a CO₂ reduction of 1,300 t.
