Stephan Mueller is the Chief Financial Officer of Siemens (Pty) Ltd South Africa, since 1 November 2014. Stephan has a career spanning more than 20 years at Siemens in various business and financial positions within the worldwide Siemens organization. While attaining a degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Bamberg between 1991 and 1995 he worked in the sales and marketing department of the Siemens High Voltage Division in Erlangen, Germany. After the completion of his degree Stephan joined Siemens Financial Services in 1996 where he specialized in project and export finance in the energy field until 1999.
In 1999, Stephan had his first experience of South Africa when he joined the local Siemens entity as the Corporate Director for Financial Services. His delegation ended in 2002 when he was asked to return to Germany as the Finance Director for the European sales regions for Siemens Healthcare. His success in Europe resulted in a move to the United States in 2006 as the Vice President of Controlling for Process and Information Management for Siemens Healthcare’s Ultrasound business unit until 2008. Stephan then moved to China where he was the Sector Cluster Controller for Siemens Healthcare in North East Asia until 2011. He then returned to Germany as the CFO of the Locomotives and Components Division, including its manufacturing and engineering sites in Erlangen (Germany), Munich (Germany), Graz (Austria), Sacramento (USA), Ekaterinburg (Russia) and Aurangabad (India).
On 1 November 2014, Stephan Mueller returned to South Africa as the CFO of Siemens (Pty) Ltd with responsibility for the Siemens business in southern and eastern Africa.
