Community Guidelines / Netiquette

We value the dynamic conversations that take place in our social media comment sections. However, as part of Siemens, we adhere to internal guidelines (available at www.siemens.com/bcg), as well as the terms of each social media platform. We kindly request all those interactive with us on our channels to observe the following “rules of engagement."

Warnings:

We reserve the rights to warn users that their presence on our channels might be limited if they continuously spread inaccurate information about us or others. In cases like these we do our utmost to understand the context of the comments and improve our dialogue with the user in question.

Single comment removal:

We reserve the rights to remove any comment that is sexist, racist, xenophobic, attacking anyone’s sexual orientation or identity, as well as any comments that could be perceived as harmful to a specific societal group. We do this to protect both our followers as well as our moderators. Our Business Conduct Guidelines also urge us to act on comments like these. If you feel that a comment was unrightfully removed, feel free to contact us via private message.

We also reserve the rights to remove any comment that is spam (redundant commenting or automated commenting), as well as any comment that might have the purpose of scamming our followers. This is done in accordance with the social media channels terms of use. In some cases we might also choose to report such comments to the social media itself. We also reserve the rights to remove any comment that tries to promote people or products unrelated to the content we post on our channels. In cases of repeat offenses, we also reserve the rights to block users.

We also reserve the rights to block comments that uses profanity towards Siemens, Siemens employees or other users. Here we also reserve the right to block or ban any user that repeatedly crosses this threshold.

User removal, ban or blocking:

As before mentioned we reserve the rights to remove, ban or block any users that continuously break these community guidelines, even though we prefer to solve these issues with dialogue first. We reserve the rights to remove, ban or block users whenever comments or content fall into the following categories:

  • Doxxing (the revealing of personal information such as full names, addresses, phone numbers etc. that can possibly lead to unwanted contact for that specific person)
  • Pornographic material (both explicit and content that is overtly sexual – it does not belong on our pages)
  • Obscene images (images that contain death or harm to humans or animals)
  • Comments or content that breaks local law
  • Threats to other users/followers of our page
  • Threats towards Siemens or its employees

This data privacy notice (status 2018, June 18) applies to the information offering from Siemens AG (“Siemens”) available for access on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/Siemens/ (“Siemens Facebook page”).

The Siemens Facebook page is operated by Siemens on the technical platform of Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2 (“Facebook”).

Siemens utilizes the statistical information relating to the use of the Siemens Facebook page that Facebook makes available via the “Facebook Insights” function.
