Our business

Flexible and efficient manufacturing processes

The Digital Factory Division aims to provide its customers with a comprehensive portfolio of hardware and software products which enable the comprehensive integration of data from development, production and suppliers.

What we do

The world has never been as networked as it is now. Whether in gas turbines, trains, manufacturing facilities or medical imaging technologies, our reality is taking on a digital dimension.

Our Digital Factory division offers a comprehensive portfolio of seamlessly integrated hardware, software and technology-based services in order to support manufacturing companies worldwide in enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of their processes.

Whether that’s providing the automation to bottle different products on a factory production line without having to stop and restart machines, or providing software to help manage workflows and streamline manufacturing processes. A good example of this is our market-leading SIMATIC S7 range of controllers, which has revolutionised automation across a variety of industries.

From Formula 1 race cars and passenger cars, to America’s Cup yachts, products are smarter and more connected than ever before.

Our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software helps manufacturers transform their operations into digital enterprises. At the heart of PLM is the ability to realise products by the simulation of a digital twin – essentially a virtual copy of the end product in which its individual components can be inserted in different configurations and tested – along the entire development chain.
