Gustavo Gusto and Siemens have been working closely together for some time to consistently digitize pizza production. The requirements for quality, modernity, and functionality require a solution that is as future-proof as it is flexible. With the Siemens Building X platform – a modular, cloud-based and open solution with AI-enabled applications, high connectivity and integrated cybersecurity – the production facility in Geretsried, Upper Bavaria, is being comprehensively modernized. The result is a lighthouse project for smart processes and digital progress.

Challenge

Gustavo Gusto was looking for a digital solution to simplify maintenance and repair processes, train employees faster, and make future space and factory planning more efficient – without disrupting ongoing operations with on-site appointments or measurements.

Solution

Using a high-resolution 3D scan of point clouds and 360° panoramas, the production facility was digitized photorealistically. In the Building X 360° Viewer, the team could now virtually move through the system, define POIs, and carry out precise measurements – at any time and without physical presence.

Benefit

Thanks to the digital mapping of his production facilities, Gustavo Gusto became much more efficient. The Building X 360° Viewer makes it possible to speed up maintenance and repair processes, as employees can orient themselves quicker and take digital measurements at any time. New colleagues get to know the system virtually in advance, which makes onboarding noticeably easier. At the same time, the photorealistic 3D representation opens up new possibilities for space and factory planning as well as for cross-site views of several plants – without affecting production operations. Travel expenses can also be reduced, and the step towards comprehensive digital building control is underway. With Siemens at his side, Gustavo Gusto is thus consistently focusing on digital modernity and long-term sustainability.
