The Industrial Trent 60 has established a new benchmark for power output, fuel economy, and cost savings. The gas turbine is highly flexible, offering high power and efficiency with minimal drop-off at part-load and reduced speed conditions. It is available with Wet Low Emission (WLE) and Dry Low Emission (DLE) combustion systems.

Highlights of the Industrial Trent 60 gas turbine

Due to its three independent shaft design, the gas turbine is highly flexible, offering high power and effiency with minimal drop-off at part-load and reduced speed conditions.

For a simple cycle Industrial Trent 60 package, the start-up sequence time is designed to be less than 10 minutes from pressing the start button to reaching full baseload. This includes an allowance for simple cycle exhaust system purge. 

The Industrial Trent 60 has the most mechanical drive experience in its class and is ideally suited to meet the higher power, variable speed demands required by applications such as natural gas liquefaction, gas transportation, and gas induction for oil recovery. 

One of the most efficient gas turbines on the market, the Industrial Trent 60 provides up to 66 MW in simple cycle service at 42.5% efficiency. Its cold start capability and high cyclic life allow it to add power to the grid very rapidly to compensate for the fluctuations and variability of renewable and other power sources, making it ideal for peaking markets.

The Industrial Trent 60 consists of eight engine modules for easy maintenance. Each module is pre-balanced to provide complete interchangeability.

The Inlet Spray Inter-cooling (ISI) system provides performance improvements at ambient temperatures greater than 7° C (52° F), while minimizing the additional plant water consumption and auxiliary load compared to other inlet cooling technologies with comparable performance enhancement. 

Ingenious design to the core

The flexible design allows to use the same engine for power generation as well as mechanical drive service with no changes. The mechanical arrangement uses three co-axial independently rotating shafts contained within a carcass of axially joined circular cases.

The package is designed for quick installation and easy maintenance in the field.

 

The package contains all components and subsystems that have been carefully selected and optimized to support the Industrial Trent 60 gas turbine:

Gas turbine, enclosure, base frame, air intake, exhaust collector, engine control system, fuel metering skid, lubricating systems, starter system, vibration monitoring system, fire fighting system, package ventilation system, instrumentation, gearbox (if needed)

For combined cycle and cogeneration (combined heat and power - CHP), Siemens offers a broad range of power plant configurations and scopes based on the SGT-800 gas turbine. For combined cycle, 1x1, 2x1, or 3x1 configurations are part of the standardized portfolio.

Liquid Fuel Operation

Due to the aeroderivative heritage, the Industrial Trent 60 can operate on liquid fuels without an EOH "equivalent operating hour" penalty. In fact, the Industrial Trent has exhibited complete liquid operation without performance or component life degredation. 

Designed to meet stringent environmental requirements

The Industrial Trent 60 DLE (Dry Low Emissions) engine is designed to meet stringent environmental requirements. 

The use of eight radial staged combustors allows the successful operation of the engine in part load operation while still maintaining NOₓ and CO compliance. 

 

NOₓ emissions:  ≤ 25 ppmvd on fuel gas (with WLE and DLE, at 15% O₂)
