The Component Design Analysis (CoDA) modules were developed to provide preliminary design procedures to enable a first analysis to be undertaken. The analysis will be followed by build and test for those without more sophisticated analysis facilities.
Preliminary analysis of sub-components with specific geometries, such as plate, beam, joint, flange, or laminate, taken into consideration as a whole.
CoDA can synthesize the properties of composite materials, laminates, and sandwich structures, for use within the design modules in a seamless manner.
CoDA comprises of seven independent, but integrated, modules.
Simulation calculates 3D stresses and failure indexes for composite panels and stiffeners. This helps engineers precisely assess through-thickness stresses at critical locations and avoid interlaminar failures, enabling reliable designs using Optistruct shell element solutions.
