The Siemens Trainee@IT program is designed to launch your career in technology with depth, structure, and long-term impact. Over two years, you’ll gain hands-on experience in two core IT departments, supported by a permanent contract from day one. The Trainee@IT program is available at multiple locations across Germany, including major tech hubs. Your specific workplace will be assigned based on the department that best fits your profile and career goals.

After your successful application, we will invite you to an assessment center. This will give us the opportunity to get to know each other and determine whether the Trainee@IT program is right for you.

Yes, international experience is possible! While a rotation between different trainee positions is typically planned for the second year, you may also have the opportunity to spend that year abroad and gain valuable global experience.

No prior experience at Siemens is required. While it's great if you've already worked with us and are familiar with our company culture, we also value fresh perspectives and diverse experiences. Everyone is welcome to apply!

To apply for the Trainee@IT program, you should have completed a university degree in (business) information technology, engineering, industrial engineering, economics, or a comparable technical field with a focus on IT. Since our roles are diverse, many degree programs are relevant. While good grades are appreciated, we value your skills, motivation, and unique perspective even more.

From day one, you’ll be employed by Siemens on a permanent, full-time basis (35 hours per week). The Trainee@IT program is not an internship—it’s a full-time role with long-term career potential.

The Trainee@IT program offers opportunities across various IT domains. Specific areas of focus will be discussed with you during the assessment center, ensuring a match between your interests, skills, and the needs of our departments.

The Trainee@IT program starts every year on  October 1. Due to high demand, the selection process begins early—typically with the job posting published at the beginning of the year. You can apply as long as the job advertisement is online, so we recommend checking regularly and applying as soon as possible.
