Spam emails may circulate in which Siemens is listed as the sender. These emails are FRAUDULENT emails or what is known as "Phishing Emails". This term consists of sending fraudulent emails that appear to be legitimate and often include company logos that make them look official.
A typical phishing email usually consists of a false claim about customer data and may include a link to a fictitious website that mimics an official page of a reputable company. The intent is to illegally acquire sensitive user information such as passwords, credit card numbers, and all kinds of personal information or to mislead or defraud the recipient. Some phishing emails may also include attachments with electronic viruses.
