At the Amberg site, two plants and two development units manufacture and develop products and solutions for the global market. With the SIMATIC S7 control family and the SIMATIC HMI operating and monitoring systems, which roll off the production line at the Electronics Works Amberg (EWA), Siemens occupies a leading position worldwide. The device factory (GWA) manufactures products for industrial switching technology such as SIRIUS (switching and protecting consumers such as motors). In addition, circuit breakers for industrial applications, infrastructure, and buildings are developed at the site.

The multi-award-winning site uses state-of-the-art IT and manufacturing technology, making it the blueprint for the digital factory of the future. Customers and partners can gain an insight into this at “The Impulse” visitor center, which opened in 2021 and where digital technologies, concepts, and automation solutions for the autonomous factory are developed and presented.
