The first Vectron locomotive built for a broad gauge rail system has left the Munich-Allach plant on its way to Finland. It's a so-called advance locomotive for testing purposes. To transport the locomotive on Germany's normal-gauge rail network, a newly developed "loco buggy" is being used. Each of the four axles of the 90-ton Vectron rests on a separate buggy. The special transport system is being used for the first time.
