Background
Industrial batteries Siemens PLC is a producer of industrial batteries and is therefore subject to The Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 (as amended). At Siemens, we are committed to complying with our duties under these Regulations, supporting the proper treatment of waste batteries and reducing the amounts going into landfill. Specifically, we produce lead acid, nickel cadmium and other batteries. We are obligated to take back free of charge, waste industrial batteries supplied to an end-user for treatment and recycling. We are required to do this in any calendar year we place new industrial batteries on the market. Portable batteries Siemens PLC place portable batteries on the market annually and are part of a Battery Compliance Scheme (BCS). We finance the collection, treatment, and recycling of our waste batteries.
