The Expedite for Vets program is designed specifically for active-duty military personnel and veterans transitioning into civilian careers. The program is ideal for service members seeking roles in engineering, automation, advanced manufacturing, digital operations, cybersecurity, data analytics, and maintenance technologies.

No prior engineering or manufacturing experience is required. The program is built to translate the leadership, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills developed through military service into credentials that civilian employers recognize.

What the Expedite–Skills for Industry microcredential covers

The Expedite–Skills for Industry microcredential is a free, four-course program covering the foundational skills employers in manufacturing, aerospace, and technology are actively seeking. Launched in 2025, the program takes approximately 40 hours, is delivered entirely online, and is self-paced so veterans and active-duty personnel can complete it around other commitments.

The courses cover:

• Product lifecycle management (PLM): How products move from concept to production and market
• AI tools and AI ethics: Practical applications of artificial intelligence and ethical considerations in engineering
• Digital twin technology: Simulation and modeling tools used in advanced manufacturing and infrastructure.
• Sustainable engineering: Environmental considerations in engineering decisions
• Project management and decision making: Data-driven analysis applied to real-world engineering challenges
• Professional communication: Workplace communication strategies for civilian engineering roles
• Business and financial acumen: The business context behind engineering decisions

The Expedite–Skills for Industry microcredential is ABET-recognized and has been endorsed by major aerospace companies including Bombardier and Northrop Grumman, channel partners including PROLIM, and leading universities including Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and the University of Cincinnati.
