About the event
Following a series of successful events in Germany, USA, China and UAE, Siemens Innovation Day – unlock the potential with digitalization arrived in India on May 10.
Siemens Innovation Day showcases innovative solutions – especially from the field of digitalization – that create sustainable value for businesses and societies. It is a platform for conversations around output-driven and market-oriented technological as well as business model innovations.
The topics addressed here are of relevance for India, like Power, Infrastructure and Manufacturing: Future of Energy (Distributed Energy Management Systems), Smart Infrastructure for Cities, Cyber Security, Predictive Maintenance, Smart Manufacturing and MindSphere.
At the event, Siemens presented highlights from its Corporate Technology team, innovations for power, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, shared success stories and how innovative solutions create value for customers and society.

Global Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Managing Board, Siemens AG
Roland Busch is responsible for the company’s infrastructure business including the Building Technologies and Mobility Divisions. In addition, Busch is in charge of the department Corporate Development and the company’s Sustainability as well as Sales activities.
In 1994, Busch joined Siemens as a project manager at Corporate Research & Development. He was appointed head of the Infotainment Solutions Division in 2002. In 2005, he relocated to Shanghai, where he served as CEO of Siemens VDO Automotive Asia Pacific. In 2007, he returned to Germany to head the Mass Transit Division at the Transportation Systems Group. In 2008, he became Head of Corporate Strategies. In 2011, he was appointed CEO of the Infrastructure & Cities Sector and Member of the Managing Board.
Roland Busch studied physics at Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany – where he received his doctorate – and at the University of Grenoble in France.

Mr. Mathur earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Punjab University and is a Chartered Accountant (member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). He has been with Siemens for over 30 years, holding several senior management positions in Germany and the UK in the Energy and Industry Sectors. Starting his career in the Internal Audit team in Delhi in 1987, he moved on to join the Business Administration Group in the Energy Sector.
He was Cluster CFO for South Asia in July 2008 and was Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Siemens Limited from December 2008 till December 2013. During his stint as the CFO of Siemens India, Mr. Mathur was part of Siemens AG CFO's Management Team that consisted of the Sector CFOs, the Heads of the Corporate Departments and selected Country CFOs.
