The two-step commissioning concept allows the Smart Thermostat to be commissioned before the building is rented. The advantage: Installation can be completed during construction while the actual setup can be performed later.
If a WLAN is not available in the room (e.g. if the building is under construction), it is still possible to install the Smart Thermostat and complete the basic configuration using the step-by-step wizard. The connection to the router/network and the mobile phone can then be configured in a second step, even by the end user (two-step commissioning concept).
No commissioning tool is required. You can perform the commissioning on the Smart Thermostat itself.
The following items come in the box: Smart Thermostat (front and rear modules), a metal mounting plate, a set of screws and a plastic insert, an activation code and wiring sticker as well as multi-lingual documentation.

The Smart Thermostat offers different opportunities to save energy.
The Smart Thermostat uses 230 V. Its power consumption is 9VA.

The Smart Thermostat detects when a resident enters a room and switches from "Away" to "Home" mode. Even if the user is outside the detection area, the Smart Thermostat will not switch off.
The Smart Thermostat will be able to control HVAC equipment through a WLAN in the future.
The Smart Thermostat was designed for 230V, following the European standard.
The Smart Thermostat can switch loads up to a maximum of 5A. For higher loads, an external relay is needed. Please follow the information and directives in the mounting instructions and data sheet for correct installation.
The built-in presence detector senses movement in a room up to a distance of approximately 8 meters. Small animals are not detected. By default, the Smart Thermostat switches the operation from "Economy" to "Comfort" when people are detected. This function can be disabled. In addition, if people are detected, the Smart Thermostat turns the display ON and shows the temperature.
Values from an outside air temperature sensor (OT) connected to the multifunctional input can be displayed in the remote app and on the local display (idle screen). The OT has no impact on room temperature control.
The recommended height is 1.50 m above the floor. Please do not mount the device in recesses, shelves, behind curtains or doors, or above or near heat sources. In addition, please try to shield it from direct sunlight.
No WLAN is required for installation.
A standard mounting plate suitable for round and square conduit boxes is included in the product packaging. For rectangular conduit boxes, a special mounting plate (ARG100.01) needs to be ordered separately.
The Smart Thermostat is powered by 230V and the output may also be up to 230V. For this reason, it must be installed by a certified professional.
It is possible to connect up to two remote sensors to the multifunctional input. Depending on the configuration, the Smart Thermostat controls the room based either on the remote temperature (the internal sensor is deactivated) or the average temperature of the remote and internal sensors. However, one Smart Thermostat cannot control several rooms at the same time. In this case, several Smart Thermostats need to be installed, one in each room. Note that the app can operate up to 12 Smart Thermostats.
The Smart Thermostat continues to work when there is no WLAN connection. It then controls the HVAC system according to the last scheduler settings it received. Note that the time scheduler settings cannot be configured locally.
According to the mounting instructions, the HVAC equipment needs to be connected to terminal Q14 for basic heating application. The power supply of the load is connected to terminal Q11 (for details please refer to the mounting instructions).
Yes. For larger conduit boxes, including 2”x4” or 4”x4” sizes, a mounting plate ARG100.01 is available for ordering.
Yes, the Smart Thermostat will save the configuration which was set before the power failure.
The Smart Thermostat app runs on iOS version 10 and Android version 5.0 or above.

One user account can manage up to 12 Smart Thermostats installed at different sites and/or in different zones.
Yes, an user account (credential) can be shared with your family members. They can control the Smart Thermostat using their own smartphones. There is no limitation on simultaneous logins. Sub-accounts will be available at a later date.
Most likely it is because the Smart Thermostat detects that someone enters the room when a scheduled "Economy" mode is running. In this case, the Smart Thermostat automatically switches from "Economy" to "Comfort" until the next scheduled mode starts. However, you can turn off auto-switching by disabling the “Enable room presence detection” parameter under “Advanced settings.”

After having selected “remove device”, it is important to wait approximately 15 min before adding the same unit through the app.
The installer can change the timezone setting (default: GMT) from the local device. If password protection is enabled, only the installer is able to change the clock settings. Otherwise, end users can change the setting themselves.
The installer or end user needs to configure the timezone setting (default: GMT) using the startup wizard (under “Advanced settings”). If the Smart Thermostat is connected to a WLAN router, the date and time information will automatically be pushed from the cloud and stored in the Smart Thermostat. If the connection is suddenly unavailable, the local device will keep using the stored local date and time until the information synchronizes with the cloud later.
The installer or end user needs to configure the timezone setting (default: GMT) using the startup wizard (under “Advanced settings”). If the Smart Thermostat is connected to a WLAN router, the date and time information will automatically be pushed from the cloud and stored in the Smart Thermostat. This allows the time scheduler to continue running in the Smart Thermostat. The settings will be synchronized later when a WLAN connection is available again.
When the user touches the idle screen, the display changes to the active screen.
The setpoints range from 12 to 35 degrees. They can be modified by the installer.
From the Smart Thermostat app, you can schedule the Smart Thermostat using the option "Thermostat schedule".
When you turn on "Auto" mode, the Smart Thermostat follows your scheduler setting to match your preferences. If you would like to turn off "Auto" mode, you can change to "Manual" mode with one click (and vice versa). In "Manual" mode, you can set your home’s temperature by yourself. Each button is visible on the Smart Thermostat display as well as on the home screen of the app.
A simple touch of the "Away" symbol on the Smart Thermostat display before leaving the house or a tap on the mobile app switches the Smart Thermostat into energy-saving ("Economy") mode.

The setup of the Smart Thermostat can easily be performed by the installer or the end user.
At the moment, one Smart Thermostat can only be paired with one user account. However, one user account can be paired with up to 12 Smart Thermostats.
A navigation wizard built into the Smart Thermostat guides you through the entire commissioning process. Simply follow the steps on the screen.
The last command received by the server takes effect.
Check your inbox and ensure that you received an activation email. Follow the instructions to activate your account and then log in on the mobile app.
Check for the email in your Junk or Deleted folder. If there is no email in the Junk or Deleted folder, request the confirmation email again.
When this function is enabled, it runs the pump or valve periodically. It is only available for certain types of equipments (incl. radiators with valve, radiators with pump, floor heating with valve, and floor heating with pump).
If you are the owner of the Smart Thermostat, simply choose "Private WLAN". This will allow you to change the WLAN connection in the "Settings" menu and have a direct access to the "Advanced settings".
If you are a service provider or facility manager, please choose "Administered WLAN" and set a password. In this case, the WLAN connection and "Advanced settings" (e.g. optimization parameters) are password protected and can only be changed by the service provider or facility manager under "Advanced settings".
"Temporary" is displayed when the temperature overrides the end user's scheduled setpoint. It will disappear after the setpoint returns to the scheduled settings at the next switching point.
If you would like to change the email address of your account, you need first to reset the old registered email address from your Smart Thermostat by contacting the cloud support team via email@example.com. Afterwards you can restart the procedure to create a new account and pairing your app with the Smart Thermostat.
You can clean the display with a soft cloth.
The cooling application will be added at a later date.
End users can use the Smart Thermostat app to control and monitor the temperature from anywhere at any time. Different setpoints can be set in the time scheduler to ensure a perfect room climate 24/7.
The Red Leaf indicator appears when operation is not energy-optimized. Simply touch the indicator to turn it into a Green Leaf. The Smart Thermostat will then resume energy-optimized operation.
Comfort: Allows you to enjoy maximum comfort when you are at home.
Pre-comfort: Saves energy when maximum comfort is not required, e.g. in the evening or at night.
Eco: Saves energy costs by reducing the temperature setpoint, e.g. when the room is unoccupied.
The color of the setpoint temperature knob will change to orange.
If the input of the Smart Thermostat has been configured as "window," and the window contact is open, the Smart Thermostat switches the operating mode to protection (OFF). In that case, you cannot operate the Smart Thermostat. Close the window contact so the Smart Thermostat returns to the home screen.
