Standard geometries
Technology cycles for standard geometries – reduce your programming times!
SINUMERIK provides a range of universal parameterizable technology cycles for standardized geometries that is second to none:
- Milling cycles:
Face milling, slot milling, circular spigots, engraving texts – and many more - Drilling cycles:
Centering, deep hole drilling, thread drilling, boring with drilling rods and many more - Turning cycles:
Turning shoulders, DIN thread undercuts, tapered threads, trapezoidal slots – and many more - Position pattern:
Individual positions, any position grids, any position circles for drilling and milling cycles on any workpiece plan
Machining cycles in action
Intuitive operator navigation with animated graphics for parameterizing, seamlessly embedded in the NC program, standard and unified operation and programming of turning, milling and drilling operations: The video shows a selection of machining cycles for standard geometries in action.
However, SINUMERIK not only offers advantages when machining parts: With a comprehensive package of measuring cycles, SINUMERIK guarantees dimensional accuracy when machining a series of parts.

Creating geometries with SINUMERIK Operate
Even without the time-consuming use of CAD systems, SINUMERIK Operate allows any part geometry to be quickly and simply transferred when programming CNC systems at the machine:
- Integrated contour computer
Milling and turning contours can be easily generated with the automatic calculation of part-defining geometry elements - DXF Viewer/Reader
Any 2D contours and position patterns can be converted from the DXF format into the SINUMERIK format to be reused in contour milling cycles, contour turning cycles and drilling cycles. - 3D feature detection (being prepared)
Milling, turning and drilling operations are identified in STEP, IGES or PRT files. SINUMERIK machining cycles and plane swivel operations that are required are automatically parameterized.
Technology cycles for any geometry
Complicated cutting operations even without using a CAM system:
SINUMERIK Operate has powerful algorithms to automatically generate tool paths to machine any part contour.
Milling contours
- Contour pockets and contour spigots are machined
- Up to 20 island contours can be taken into account
