Integrated mobility is a future-oriented and practicable way of ensuring the sustainable use and connection of a wide variety of transport options. For years, intermodal transport has been one of the keys to efficient mobility. There is already a broad range of transport options available in most downtown areas. However, for many travellers, the sense of freedom is tied to their own cars – where they often end up in traffic jams. To relieve the burden of traffic jams for everyone, there must first be access to alternative transport options and then, these need to be attractive. With appealing transport options, we can aim to achieve simple, efficient and flexible travel for everyone.
Siemens SiMobility offers a broad spectrum of IT-based solutions that combine both conventional and complementary providers into a single, unified whole, thus enabling optimal service.
SiMobility makes travelling easy. By public transport – but also by various transportation modes. SiMobility supports the vision of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) to provide easy and seamless use of various forms of public and private transport to from a single source: bus, train, car sharing and much more - according to the needs of the travellers and the city's transport landscape.
With SiMobility, travelers receive exactly the assistance they need: for intermodal route planning prior to departure, booking and payment, and by providing up-to-date information during the journey.
SiMobility serves not only passengers, but also mobility providers and operators. SiMobility creates a basis for new business models and opens new revenue opportunities through an expanded multi- and intermodal offering. The analysis of mobility data enables further optimisation of the range of services and a sustainable design of the transport landscape.
The possibilities for expanding transport capacities are limited. Intelligent and efficient use and networking of existing means of transport is therefore required.
SiMobility is comprised of various modules that can be implemented individually, or as a complete solution, and successively supplemented, expanded and thus is adapted to customer requirements in a targeted and flexible manner.
The system currently consists of three main elements:
