The SGT-400 is a simple, robust twin-shaft gas turbine, suitable for both power generation and mechanical drive applications. The product services the 10 – 15 MW power band and can be used in all climates, onshore and offshore. The SGT-400 gas turbine offers the highest efficiency in its power class, incorporating the latest aerodynamic and combustion technologies.

The SGT-400 is a proven drive solution in the oil and gas industry, for example as a compressor or pump drive – both onshore and offshore. With its turbine speed range from 4,800 to 10,000 rpm, it can be used as a direct compressor drive without applying an intermediate gearbox.
The gas turbine is designed for variable-speed applications and loads and is suitable for a wide range of requirements.
The SGT-400's twin-shaft design permits excellent speed and load turndown flexibility.
The simple design consists of a 2-bearing gas generator rotor with an 11-stage axial flow transonic compressor, and a 2-stage overhung compressor turbine. The SGT-400 free power turbine also has a robust 2-stage, overhung design.
The rotors are contained in heavy-duty casings which are horizontally and vertically split, so you can carry out maintenance on-site. The compressor uses variable guide vanes for robust operability and optimized performance across a range of operating conditions.
The gas turbine is equipped with a Dry Low Emissions (DLE) combustion system, which achieves low NOₓ emissions with both gaseous and liquid fuels.
The compact SGT-400 gas turbine packages for power generation and mechanical drive applications are equipped with factory-tested modules, and offer a high power-to-weight ratio. The packages consist of gas turbine, gearbox, driven unit and all factory-tested fluid modules, mounted on an underbase, which are easily transported, installed and maintained on site.
The shop-tested and certified fluid system modules are common for all SGT-400 gas turbine packages and come fully wired into the package control systems:
The SGT-400 is an ideal offshore gas turbine.
It can be used:
- for offshore power generation, e.g., on oil platforms and FPSO vessels
- as a drive solution for pumps, e.g., for water injection in oil production, in crude oil processing and for the transport of refinery products via pipelines
- as a drive solution for compressors for gas injection, to increase pressure in pipelines and in natural gas processing
