Six outstanding candidates. One opportunity of a lifetime.

Introducing our CEO* Program. A unique opportunity for six of the best and brightest in their fields from around the world to learn what it takes to lead a global enterprise.

Each candidate is hand-picked by our leadership team after a thorough application process. Over 24 months, you’ll take on three individually chosen assignments around the world that tackle problems on a global scale. With guidance from senior executives, you’ll find e.g. ways to create economic growth while reducing the consumption of energy and resources, ensure healthcare is both high quality and affordable, or make industrial production more flexible and efficient.

Whilst growing with your challenges you will be mentored by a top executive. Besides this personal connection, our annual development week will provide you with exclusive opportunities to meet our top management and discuss the future of Siemens with them.

We’re looking for open-minded, bold leaders who have a thorough understanding of the world we live in. If this sounds like you, apply now and join us.

Where are they now?

Our CEO* Program has turned many people into successful leaders within Siemens. Hear from those who made their way to the top.

David Kryl

General Manager of Joint Venture Company, Shanghai

“They really do challenge you and take you out of your comfort zone as much as possible. I was sent to China to work on a change management process in sales efficiency. And at the time I was just a chemical engineer without any experience in sales at all. It became clear that with results, comes visibility. By the end of my assignments I was receiving meeting invitations from senior business leaders within the company and even board members.”

Mariana Barrios Cabrera

Strategy & Controlling Head for Energy Austral Andina, Colombia

“In my previous role I was wearing a hard hat and hi-vis. But once I joined Siemens, it completely changed. I went from completely operational, to high level strategy – with my first assignment being in Beijing. It was an eight-month rotation where you had to deliver. You didn’t have the luxury to go through a big learning curve. But you have a great support network here. If you’re struggling, someone, somewhere in the world will be awake and you can ring them and get advice.”

Jessica Asinugo

Head of Regional Management and Strategy, Sub-Saharan Africa

"Going into Business School, my career vision was clear: to become a global healthcare business leader, tackling the most challenging problems facing growth markets. The CEO* Program provides me with an unparalleled opportunity to achieve this goal, through demanding international assignments, coupled with one-of-a-kind executive mentorship."

Want some more information about our CEO* Program? Here are some of our most asked questions. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, drop us a message on Twitter or Facebook.

What type of candidate is Siemens looking for with the program?

We are looking for ambitious, globally-minded leaders with strong educational and professional backgrounds. Only six candidates per year will be selected to participate in the rigorous 24-month rotational leadership program.

The program is more than a development opportunity; it's a way to accelerate your international management career at Siemens. We are looking to develop our future general managers and diversify our leadership team with highly talented individuals who have strong global career aspirations.

You will work on three strategic, international projects. Each assignment is fitted to your professional area of expertise and personal development needs. You will have ample opportunity to demonstrate your personal leadership skills and work closely with top Siemens executives. In addition, you will receive guidance from the Siemens leadership team and the CEO* Program team.

We want to expose participants to a variety of Siemens business areas. Assignments can be from all Siemens businesses. Your professional and personal strengths, as well as your personal development plans will be taken into consideration when selecting a project for you.

Don't worry. Because of the flexible starting dates, we are always able to consider exceptionally qualified candidates.

Successful candidates must fulfill the requirements outlined in the qualifications section.

There is no specific starting date. Each selected candidate will be able to work with the program team to arrange an individual starting date.

Generally, we accept applications throughout the year. However, depending on from which business school you are applying, there are deadlines during peak application periods.

Please submit your resume and a cover letter. If you have further documents, feel free to include them as well.

You will receive a "thank you" message on the screen.

Feedback is generally provided within five business days following receipt of your application.

Due to a high number of applications we are unfortunately not able to connect you with current participants or alumni of the CEO* Program before you apply. However, we will gladly connect you to them once you have proceeded in the interview process.

Yes. As the CEO* Program requirements are very specific, the program is not for everyone. However, Siemens has plenty of other challenging positions, and we encourage you to explore these opportunities on our Siemens Global Jobs & Careers site. Please keep in mind that you will need to submit a new application.
