1955

Siemens-Reiniger-Werke (SRW) begins working with the Taiwan X-Ray Company

 

1970

A sole agency agreement is concluded with Delta Inc., Taipei

 

1970

Siemens and MAN supply the electrical equipment for the largest diesel power plant in the world, which is located in Taiwan

 

1973

The sole agency agreement with Delta is terminated

 

1974

The Siemens Liaison Office opens; numerous licensing agreements are concluded and new agency contracts awarded

 

1979

Siemens supplies the heavy current equipment, including measuring and control systems, for Taiwan Metal and Mining Co.’s new copper works

 

1980

The Directorate General of Telecommunications orders EWSP, the high-performance package switching system

 

1983

A licensing contract is signed with Taiwanese companies for the manufacture of the electronic teletypewriter T 1000

 

1989

Siemens Ltd. is founded with headquarters in Taipei

 

1990

Siemens Telecommunications Systems Ltd., Taipei, produces the first EWSD systems

An order is received from the Taiwan Power Company for Taiwan’s first combined cycle power plant in Nan Pu

Building of the Hsinta power plant in Taiwan – the world’s biggest combined cycle plant in the 60-Hertz market, with a capacity of 2,220 MW

The first train sets operating with alternating current technology inaugurated in Taiwan

 

1997

Siemens’ ProMOS Technologies joint venture opens semiconductor plant in Hsinchu, Taiwan

2002

The largest order ever placed for electrical systems for a subway project is received from Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Co.

 

2003

First UMTS order for Siemens in Asia – Mobile phone operator TCC orders UMTS infrastructure for Taiwan

 

2006

Cargo system built by Siemens goes into operation at the Taipei Airport after being completed in only 15 months

 

2008

Siemens supplies Taiwan Air Cargo Terminal Ltd. with the modification and expansion of its material handling systems in both Taoyuan and Kaohsiung International Airports

Siemens continues its parts and service supply agreement for Taiwan Power Company’s (TPC) Nan Pu and Hsinta power plants
