1870–2000

1879

Wisse, Piccaluga & Co., ‘s-Gravenhage (The Hague), becomes Siemens & Halske's (S&H) first agent in Luxembourg. It also represents S&H in the Netherlands

 

1890

After an S&H branch is established in ’s-Gravenhage (The Hague), Bartels & Haager becomes S&H’s agent in Luxembourg

 

1893

The Société Anonyme Luxembourgeoise d‘Electricité is founded, in which S&H has a majority stake

 

1893

Dynamo machines are supplied for the Ettelbrück hydroelectric power plant

 

1908

The Société Anonyme Luxembourgeoise d‘Electricité is liquidated; a sub-office of the Rheinische SSW GmbH, Mannheim, now takes over as representative for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

 

1910

The sub-office is entered in the Luxembourg Commercial Register

 

1912

The Technical Bureau Metz becomes the representative for heavy-current business in Luxembourg

 

1920

An independent SSW subsidiary is founded in Luxembourg

 

1923

The Centrale d’Electricité et de Constructions SA is founded to represent the whole company in Luxembourg and Belgium

 

1926

A sub-office is founded in Luxembourg

 

1950

Business is resumed in Luxembourg and Belgium with the founding of the Société Nouvelle Siemens SA.

 

1960

The company is renamed SA Siemens N.V.; in 1969 it becomes Siemens S.A./N.V.

Siemens Europa-Finanz AG is founded in Luxembourg

Important orders are received for Europa’s largest pumped-storage power plant in Vianden

2002

P&T Luxembourg orders mobile network infrastructure; Siemens mobile is the sole infrastructure supplier for the 3G network

 

2006

Siemens wins an important submission from EU Convention Center thanks to their experience with similar projects like Court of Justice and the Court of the European Communities on the Kirchberg Plateau

 

2008

Siemens becomes technology partner of LuxConnect, a provider of data and communications center solutions founded by Luxembourg government

 

2012

Siemens is to supply a biomass steam turbine for KIOWATT, Roost, Luxembourg

 

2012

At the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch in Luxembourg, Siemens installs a hybrid room with an angiography system and advanced 3D treatment applications
