1851

Siemens & Halske (S&H) receives an order for pointer telegraphs from the Royal Danish Telegraph Administration in Copenhagen

 

1882

The company provides electric lighting for Denmark’s armored naval vessel Tordenskjold

 

1890

S&H builds and installs Copenhagen’s first municipal power station

 

1893

The company opens a Technical Bureau in Copenhagen

 

1893

Electrification is provided for the streetcar line linking downtown Copenhagen to Nörrebro

 

1902

Dansk Aktieselskab Siemens & Halske is founded

 

1904

Dansk Aktieselskab Siemens-Schuckert is founded

 

1947

The old Siemens companies are dissolved and three new companies are established: Siemens Stærkstrøm AS, Siemens Svagstrøm AS and Siemens Røntgen AS

The heavy-current and light-current companies are merged to form Dansk Siemens Aktieselskab

Denmark’s largest power unit goes into operation

 

1983

The Danish National Railway awards Siemens a contract for three-phase locomotives

 

1991

Europe’s first public high-speed data network goes into operation in Denmark

Siemens acquires Danfoss’ Flow Division to strengthen its position in process automation

 

2005

Siemens acquires Bonus Energy A/S, a provider of wind turbines, and founds Siemens Wind Power

 

2007

Siemens lands a contract for converter stations for the Storebaelt project, a 400-kV HVDC connection across the Great Belt between the islands of Zealand and Funen

 

2010

Siemens secures order from DONG Energy to supply 111 wind turbines for Denmark’s largest offshore wind power plant Anholt which is inaugurated in 2013 with the Danish Queen, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Energy in attendance

 

2011

Banedanmark places a contract with Siemens for the modernization of the complete signaling system of the Copenhagen commuter rail network. It is the biggest rail automation order that Siemens has ever received

 

2013

Siemens opens world’s largest wind turbine R&D test facilities in Brande and Aalborg, Denmark
