Wegberg-Wildenrath is a major transportation hub, serving as a key route for locomotives, entire trains, trams and subways. The city is home to one of the world's largest test centres for rail vehicles: the Wegberg-Wildenrath Test and Validation Centre (PCW) from Siemens Mobility, which employs around 700 people. With a proven track record spanning more than 20 years, it is the ideal partner for testing, validating, and certifying rail vehicles and systems.

The centre also offers repair and modernisation services for trains. This facility is equipped to conduct a range of standard and meter gauge tests on vehicles, systems, and components, adhering to industry standards and protocols. 365 days a year. This is separate from the timetables and route plans of public networks.

The infrastructure is also available to third parties; 25 percent of the vehicles tested by us are not from Siemens.
