The completely revised Data Protection Act (DSG) and the corresponding provisions in the ordinances are intended to ensure better protection of personal data. In particular, data protection will be adapted to technological developments, self-determination over personal data will be strengthened and transparency in the collection of personal data will be increased.
Taking into account the new FADP and the relevant provisions of the Federal Act against Unfair Competition (UWG), Siemens Switzerland has decided to obtain consent for the sending of advertising emails using the double opt-in procedure. This is to ensure that promotional emails are sent only to recipients who have explicitly and verifiably consented to receiving such information.
The completely revised Data Protection Act (DSG) and the implementing provisions in the new Data Protection Ordinance (DSV) and the new Ordinance on Data Protection Certifications (VDSZ) came into force on 1 September 2023.
