Why SITOP add-on modules?

SITOP add-on modules protect 24V power supply from interference and hazards on the primary and secondary sides. They prevent plant standstills and costly damages by protecting against power supply failures, extreme voltage variations or faulty loads. These modules offer flexible expansion for SITOP power supply units, enabling complete, all-round protection.

Featured capabilities

Safeguarding against failure through redundancy

Confirm a reliable 24V DC power supply, even if one unit fails, by decoupling two power supplies. If one device fails, the intact one automatically takes over the power supply. SITOP PSE202U redundancy module is also available with NEC Class 2 output, and SITOP RED1200 decouples both 24V and 48V power supplies. RED1200 24V/48V 2 x 20A is also available as an explosion protection variant.

Protection and fault localization in DC load circuits

Divide the 24V DC power supply circuit into separate branches, and selectively protect them from overload or short circuit. The faulty branch is switched off while all other consumers remain supplied without interruption — avoiding a total plant failure. SITOP SEL1200 and SEL1400 selectivity modules enable extensive remote diagnostics per output to detect a critical condition before a shutdown.

Bridging short-term power failures

Bridge short-term power failures (brownouts) in seconds using electrolytic capacitors for reliable, interruption-free 24V supply. In addition to the buffer function, the buffer module can support the power supply with up to 40A in the event of short-term high power demand.

Protect against high reverse voltages

The SITOP CHO1400 chopper module protects the output of a 24V or 48V power supply from high regenerative voltages — due to braking DC motors, for example. The module limits the voltage by converting the regenerated energy into heat via internal resistors.

Reliable reduction of inrush currents

Reduce the inrush current of power supplies with SITOP inrush current limiter. Or use the compact module to increase the service life of sensitive components, such as relays, by reducing inrush current surges from LEDs, for example. With an overall width of only 18 mm in the step profile, the LOGO! ICL230 is an ideal fit for LOGO! modules and subdistributors.

Trip miniature circuit breakers

The SITOP PBM1200 power boost module can be connected in parallel with a SITOP 24V or 48V power supply from 20A-rated output current to disconnect the affected feeder in milliseconds in the event of a short circuit. The power boost module briefly supplies the high-tripping current required by a conventional miniature circuit breaker to disconnect the affected feeder.
