Why Industrial Edge Virtual Device?

Industrial Edge Virtual Device (IEVD) is a software-based Industrial Edge Device that runs as a virtual machine on standard virtualization platforms.
IEVD enables customers to leverage their existing virtualization infrastructure (VMware ESXi/vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Red Hat OpenShift, Nutanix AHV/AOS) for Industrial Edge workloads, supporting flexible scaling and rapid deployment of edge computing capabilities in industrial environments.

The virtual machine image is based on Linux Debian and the Industrial Edge Device Kit (IEDK).
