Why Assetfox?

Wherever the exchange of information shall be automatized and standardized, Assetfox enables it, based on the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) standard. It realizes advanced engineering by making products discoverable in the leading engineering tools, ensures the initial delivery of product data by OEMs fulfilling new end-user requirements, and improves operator's asset management by eliminating manual information transfer and updating.

Create AASX (AAS file format) packages for product supply in an automatic or manual approach which can be accessed by APIs

Standards-compliant AAS exchange

Assetfox implements the IDTA AAS standard (IEC 61406), including AAS submodels for Digital Nameplate, ECLASS v14.0 Technical Data, and VDI 2770 handover documentation, interoperable via MX-Port.

Industrial-grade application

Versatile solution covering all relevant data exchange use cases with a hardened application. The solution is scalable across small to large installations and is operated fulfilling the highest cybersecurity requirements.

Out-of-the-box SaaS reliability

Hosted by Siemens with guaranteed availability and support without any customer efforts. Continuous maintenance, updates, fast troubleshooting, and evolving with the AAS standard – all covered within the SaaS subscription.

Featured capabilities

AAS infrastructure as a service

Assetfox provides a complete, hosted AAS infrastructure including AAS Repository, AAS Registry, AAS Discovery, AASX File Server, AAS Client, and Access Management (public/private). No infrastructure setup is required – the multi-tenancy SaaS platform is ready to use out of the box for OEMs and data receivers alike.

AASX package creation and management

Automatically generates standardized AASX packages from uploaded documents. The AAS generator creates AAS-compliant information packages out of proprietary data (PDF, BMEcat/ECLASS files, images), usable for organizations that do not yet have AAS-native data sources. This allows machine-readable, structured asset data for various AAS submodels, e.g. Digital Nameplate, Technical Data (ECLASS v14.0), and Hand-over Documentation (VDI2770). The generation can be done manually or automatically using the APIs.

Product and Equipment Data Access via MX-Port

Assetfox enables the secure management of product and equipment data. Product data can be made publicly available in engineering systems, while access to equipment-specific data can be restricted to authorized parties like the asset purchaser.

Cross-company data space connectivity

Connect your organization to the industrial data space. Assetfox supports interoperability with other AAS systems through MX-Port Leo and MX-Port Hercules, supporting the interoperability principles defined as part of Manufacturing X/Factory X. Customer-specific data source connectors can be realized by Siemens partners or end-users directly using the standardized API, avoiding IT and OT lock-in.

Flexibility as key benefit

Assetfox enables an AAS infrastructure as flexible usable service to end-users as well as 3rd party application builder e.g. to build up an application for Digital Product Passport, to supply AAS information as OEM or to have a solution allowing material flow traceability. The licensing model only charges what is really used and allows user to start with a small-scale installation and later expand seamlessly.
