The TH Entrepreneur Club Incube Challenge (13th - 17th October) brings together talented students from around the world to tackle a complex problem. For a nonstop 100 hours, these bright minds use their brain power to solve challenges, all while working and sleeping in different glass cubes around Switzerland. Our #TeamSiemens was working in a cube at ETH Polyterrace in Zurich creating solutions in the fields of Buildings and AI. This exciting event is all about pushing the boundaries of innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
With Siemens and ETH Zurich's strong partnership, participants gain access to valuable expertise and insights. The challenge is a chance to influence the future of technology and infrastructure, solving real-world problems with creativity and vision.
This years challenge for the students:
Talk to Your Building - imagine a large language model (LLM) seamlessly integrated with a modern building's entire data and control systems.
Once the challenge concludes, teams present their amazing projects to an enthusiastic audience. We can’t wait for #TeamSiemens to showcase their innovative thinking and commitment to impactful ideas.
We are so proud – with their invention «Tactone - hear the way forward », our team has won the prestigious Jury Prize! Tactone uses spatial audio and AI to guide visual impaired people through complex buildings. Voice-activated navigation that's accessible, intuitive, and built for everyone. Traditional maps show you the shortest path. Tactone's AI understands context. It works with your headphones and knows if a corridor is crowded, or if a door requires assistance.
The system learns from real-time building data and anonymous usage patterns. It doesn't just guide you — it adapts to obstacles, suggests alternatives, and gets smarter with every journey. And most important : it helps visualy impaired people to navigate complex buildings like airport, hospitals, universities and museums etc.
We hope that Tactone will become reality one day and looking forward to celebrate with « our » students!
