Inspiring the next generation of innovators

Connecting industry and academia

Collaboration with universities

Siemens Czech Republic collaborates with leading Czech universities. Its partners include, for example, the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT), the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Brno University of Technology, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Masaryk University, the University of Pardubice, Tomas Bata University in Zlín, the Technical University of Liberec, and the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague).

Equipping laboratories and classrooms

  • Siemens provides equipment for relevant student laboratories and classrooms, giving students and educators access to modern technologies.
  • The goal is to complement theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience using Siemens products and solutions.
  • Examples include the Electrical Protection Laboratory at VSB-TUO, the Electric Drives Laboratory at CTU, the Industry 4.0 Teaching Laboratory at BUT (Brno University of Technology), and the Experimental Brewery at UCT Prague.

Lectures, scholarships and theses

  • The collaboration includes teaching courses and seminars, expert lectures, student internships and placements, participation in examination committees, thesis supervision and review and facility tours.
  • Topics covered in expert lectures include control system and robot programming, virtual commissioning, industrial automation, mechatronics, smart grids, electromobility, IoT, advanced sensors and emerging trends in semiconductors.

Joint research and development projects

  • The collaboration takes place on specific local and global research and development projects with respected university research facilities.
  • The goal is to gain access to know-how and technologies, optimize and further develop Siemens products and solutions, conduct tests and measurements and find solutions to current technical challenges.
  • Examples of such projects include a delta robot for pick-and-place operations, the use of artificial intelligence in construction, manufacturing process simulation and the digital twin of an electric motor, automation of hydroponic vegetable cultivation, optimization of climate comfort in vehicles and a distributed MES (Manufacturing Execution System).

Competition for talented students – Sinumerik CUP

The competition for young technologists and programmers motivates high school students to engage in teamwork, personal responsibility and preparation for future careers. Students from high schools and vocational schools get the opportunity to showcase their CNC programming skills. They gain hands-on experience with modern CNC machines and can compete for attractive prizes.

Supporting secondary schools in low-voltage technology

The Siemens OEZ plant v Letohrad provides low-voltage equipment for educational purposes to secondary schools across the Czech Republic.
