Why SIMATIC ET 200SP e-Starter?

Switch and protect three-phase asynchronous motors and resistive loads with the SIMATIC ET 200SP e-Starter, a fully electronic motor starter. It provides fully electronic short-circuit and overload protection.

In the event of a short circuit, the e-Starter detects and switches off the short circuit currents in less than 5 μs. Thanks to this fast reaction time, short-circuit currents are no longer destructive. After the fault has been cleared, the SIMATIC ET 200SP e-Starter is immediately ready to restart.

The integrated Smart Start, together with phase-optimized switching, neutralizes inrush currents, reduces starting currents, and minimizes starting torque peaks. The compact e-Starter is part of the SIMATIC ET 200SP system and is fully integrated into STEP 7 (TIA Portal).

Key benefits

Optimize system availability

Gain greater availability thanks to reliable short circuit detection, ultra-fast switching in less than 5 μs, and reduced electrical load. After the fault has been corrected, you can immediately switch on again.

Provide superior protection for motors & applications

Protect your high-efficiency motors and sensitive applications from electrical and mechanical damage with the built-in Smart Start, which neutralizes inrush currents, reduces starting currents and torque peaks, and more.

Reduce engineering effort

Easily install and quickly set up the e-Starter in TIA Portal with backplane bus and plug-in technology for increased efficiency. Replace devices easily during operation with automatic reparameterization (hot swapping).
